Millions of bushels could be donated to “starving countries” according to President Trump.

While US soybean production has kept growing over the past few years to exceed 4bio bushels/year, it is deeply impacted by the trade war, as China represents almost 25% of its end destination. In the coming months, soybean producers, already deeply impacted, will have no choice but to rely on political decisions and look at Washington and Beijing to find a common ground.

In the mean time, technical and operational hurdles might make it difficult for Trump to effectively make it available to people in need.
